The Ozone is created when the sun's rays split oxygen molecules into single atoms;these single atoms then combine with nearby oxygen molecules to form three oxygen molecules . The ozone layer is a region of the Earth's stratosphere that absorbs most of the sun's ultraviolet radiation. It is mainly found in the lower portion of the stratosphere from approximately 15 to 35 kilometres above the Earth although it's thickness varies seasonally and geographically. It's main work is to absorb the harmful ultraviolet rays emitted by the sun.
